Brevitas

UI Designer - UX Designer

Summary

In the middle of 2014, I joined a couple of my old coworkers from a previous startup company (thismoment inc.) and helped them brand and put together a responsive product (including marketing pages) that enabled an easy way to sell commercial real estate privately. Brevitas The timeline for this project lasted 3 months.

My roleProduct Designer

As a small scrappy startup, Brevitas needed a "Web Designer." Time is always of the essence with startups in order to stay afloat, so I hit the ground running once I started. My responsibilities consisted of: helping brand the company, building marketing landing pages and helping visualize the actual product.

ProblemsPutting the cart after the horse

When I joined Brevitas, we were a small team of 4 people and I was the only designer. First things first, the company needed help with their website to help solicit the need for help. Before that, I had to help create somewhat of a brand around their company where we arrived at a simple wordmark style logo and a stern brand direction that helped legitimize the company. Next we focused on building the marketing landing pages that helped explain the actual product which took about a month. At the same time, we were fleshing out what the actual interfaces looked and worked like for the off-market commercial real estate dashboards. The company has since brought on new investors and advisors while maintaining relatively small.
